Latest traffic news

Welcome to this live blog of the latest traffic and travel news in Kent.

M20: One lane blocked and slow traffic due to a broken down vehicle on the M20 London between Junction 9 A20 Fougeres Way (Ashford) and Junction 8 A20 Ashford Road (Leeds Castle / Maidstone Services). It blocks lane one (out of two) in the SUL, halfway.

Also on the M20: There are speed restrictions due to Operation Brock where all freight traffic heading for a level crossing must pass through the conical area on the M20 heading for the coast between Junction 8 (Leeds Castle / Maidstone Services) and Junction 9 (Ashford).

However, the London bound side between J9 and J8 is now open to all traffic. Source: CCTV image, highways, highways press office.

All other traffic not heading for a channel crossing must or local East Kent freight must use the diversion contraflow on the other side.

Ashford: Somerset Road is partially blocked and the road surface is in poor condition due to a burst water main between A28 North Street and Wellesley Road.

Dover: Jubilee Way to the coast is closed due to traffic management to prevent lorries trying to bypass holding areas between the A258 (St Margaret’s At Cliffe / Deal Rondabout) and the A20 (Eastern Docks roundabout) .
