‘Break the bank!’ – Manchester United fans plead for Declan Rice’s transfer

Manchester United fans sent another transfer message to Declan Rice as the West Ham captain helped them on their way to the FA Cup fourth round.

Manuel Lanzini’s goal was completed by Jarrod Bowen in the second-half stoppage to seal a 2-0 victory over Leeds, but it was the England international who drew the most attention.

He has become a standout player for club and country after helping the Hammers qualify for Europe last season before becoming a mainstay of Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2020 squad midfielder.

Manchester Evening News previously reported that the Reds had named the 22-year-old as the primary target for the upcoming summer window.

Rice was a key part of the victory as his role was to stop the relentless energy of Marcelo Bielsa’s men.

His display led to a number of United fans begging to bring him to the club at all costs and before their rivals entered the chase.

The Reds were previously set to sign a defensive midfielder in January, but club insiders say there is a “low probability” that United will strengthen their squad this month and the MEN reported this week, other trades are expected to be low.
