Spring start scheduled for May 7 at Centennial Bank Stadium
JONESBORO — Arkansas State University will hold its spring 2022 kick-off ceremony at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, at Centennial Bank Stadium. The event is open to the public and seating for family and friends will be first come, first choice at the ceremony.
Chancellor Kelly Damphousse will award degrees to graduates from eight colleges, including agriculture, the Neil Griffin College of Business, education and behavioral sciences, engineering and computer science, liberal arts and communications, nursing and health professions, science and mathematics, and University College. Graduates will receive doctoral, specialist, master’s, bachelor’s and associate’s degrees.
Lt. Col. J. Morgan Weatherly, Professor of Military Science, will administer the Oath of Commissioning to senior graduates who have completed the ROTC program.
A-State’s standard clear bag policy will be in effect and no outside food or drink will be permitted. Sodexo will sell water, coffee and soft drinks on both sides of the stadium. Free water will be provided to students in the field courtesy of the Chancellor’s Office. In addition, umbrellas will be allowed in the stands.
Parking is available at all hard-surface parking lots near Centennial Bank Stadium. There is no parking on grass or along national roads.
Graduates are asked to report to the Student Activity Center whose doors open at 8:30 a.m. for the SAC and the stadium.
In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved inside the First National Bank Arena on the same date and time.
